What is the point of making a plan in January for your summer trip in June, if it is all going to change anyway?
As of today's date:
Day One: ( June 19) Drive to Dakota Dunes, SD - Stay in roadside Inn ( 18 hr stretch) Happy Father's DAY!!!
Day Two: (June 20) Drive through Badlands and arrive in Hot Springs SD and stay at KOA campground in our tent (since someone drove a jeep through our deluxe cabin.)
Day Three: June 21 Hot Springs/Black Hills SD( Custer state park and cool hike - Needles?
Day Four June 22 Black Hills -( Kayak at Angustora reservoir) then head north Stay at Deadwood SD at a casino ( go to Rushmore)
Day Five : June 23 - Sheridan, WY ( Big Horn Area)
Day Six June 24 : Head to KOA West Gate Yellowstone and hope to God that the southern park is open. Complete overhaul required for this three day stretch due to Yellowstone being wiped off the map.
Day Seven June 25 - West Gate KOA (hope for best - check out Grand Tetons?)
Day Eight June 26 - More wishful thinking that we can see old faithful and grand prismatic and do one of our chosen hikes in the park.???
Day Nine June 27 Salt Lake City Utah- check out great salt lake....antelope island park ( potentially drive thru tetons if haven't already done that.
Day Ten June 28 - head to Moab UTAH ( Camping Cabin)
Day Eleven June 29 MOAB EXPLORATION - electric mt. bikes
Day Twelve June 30 Arches National Park/Hiking Day
Day Thirteen July 1 - TAOS - with a stop in Durango COLORADO
Day Fourteen July 2- TAOS
Day Fifteen July 3 - head to Lonoke Ark - OUR RESTING SPOT FOR DRIVE HOME
Day Sixteen July 4 - Last stretch home to NC
